Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy
Childhood and adolescents should be a time of safety, yet traumatic events, distress, and life transitions can create overwhelming ripples in a young person's life. If your family is navigating these difficult waters, please know you are not alone. As both a mother, individual who struggled in my teenage years, and a certified teacher, I possess a unique lens into the daily realities of children and teens. I understand the specific pressures they face at home, within their thoughts, bodies, and within the classroom. My practice provides a gentle, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed sanctuary where young people can process heavy memories and big feelings. Together, we will work toward emotional regulation and restored security, helping your child find their voice and resilience during their most formative years.

Signs of Psychological Distress in Children and Adolescence
Evidence of trauma or distress in children and teens can show up in many ways. You might notice these emotional or behavioral shifts in your daily life.

Rest and Energy
Staying awake with racing thoughts, having scary dreams, or feeling a lack of motivation that makes getting through a school day feel impossible.

School and Focus
Finding it hard to concentrate on lessons, feeling constant worry about being 'good enough', or sensing that your mind is always somewhere else.

Feelings and Social Life
Withdrawing from friends, feeling angry without knowing why, or experiencing a sense of being misunderstood by the adults and peers in your life.
Empowering Children and Adolescents Through Healing
Play TherapyÂ
Through play therapy, I help kids use their natural way of playing to work through big feelings and scary memories. This gentle approach allows your child to safely practice new coping skills and change how they view difficult thoughts, turning playtime into a powerful path for healing.
ACT and Art Inspired Therapy
Through using ACT and art inspired therapy, I help your child navigate big feelings through self-expression and practical coping techniques. These sessions empower them to embrace their emotions while building the confidence and resilience needed to move forward with courage and clarity.
DBT Skills for Loud Emotions
I utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills to help teens navigate intense emotions. We focus on mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness skills to provide a reliable toolkit for handling stress in the moment, ensuring your child feels balanced and capable when their inner world feels too loud or chaotic.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT helps your child notice how unhelpful thoughts influence their feelings. Together, we identify these patterns and practice new coping skills to manage emotions effectively. By building these tools, your child gains confidence to handle challenges both at home and in school with a clearer mind.
Compassion Focused TherapyÂ
Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) helps youth replace self-blame with self-kindness. By understanding that their brain is simply trying to survive, they move away from shame toward confidence. I use creative, supportive exercises to build a healthier bond between your child and their own unique identity.
Solution Focused TherapyÂ
Through Solution-Focused Therapy, I help your child harness their natural strengths to navigate life's hurdles. Together, we identify small, achievable goals and develop practical steps tailored for both home and school.Â
Somatic Therapy
Somatic therapy helps your child listen to their body and needs like a racing heart or tight muscles, so they can gently release stored tension. By learning these physical cues, children can shift out of survival mode and rediscover a natural sense of peace and safety within themselves.
